The World Economic Forum’s (WEF) Global Risks Report 2025 has been issued, identifying five of the top ten global risks by severity in the next 10 years being related to environmental issues, namely ‘Extreme weather events’, ‘Biodiversity loss and ecosystem collapse’, ‘Critical change to Earth systems’, 'Natural resource shortages' and 'Pollution'.
The Report is a useful guide for all organizations, as these issues should be taken into consideration in any organization’s Materiality Analysis, in order to address the wider global sustainability context, on which we all have an impact on.
The 2025 Report also presents the results of a Global Risks Perception Survey, in which over 900 experts and leaders assess the severity of 33 global risks over a 10-year horizon.
